Cycling the Ćiro Trail from Mostar to Kotor
Follow the gentle gradient of the historic Ćiro railway from Mostar to the Bay of Kotor. This 7-day leisure tour is designed for riders who want to enjoy the scenery, historic towns, and Mediterranean vibes at a relaxed pace. Daily rides are shorter and manageable, with plenty of stops for photos, coffee, and local experiences.
Accommodations are in small hotels and guesthouses, often with charming historic or coastal views.
Day 1 – Arrival in Mostar
Arrive in Mostar and soak in the beauty of the Stari Most (Old Bridge) and cobblestone streets of the old town.
Evening: welcome briefing and bike fitting.

Day 2 – Mostar to Čapljina

A gentle first day along the lower Ćiro Trail. Cycle through quiet Herzegovinian countryside and vineyards. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and photo stops along restored railway sections.

Day 3 – Čapljina to Hutovo
~25–30 km | +200 m / -150 m
Ride past Hutovo Blato Nature Park, a haven of wetlands and birdlife. Easy, mostly flat cycling on the historic railway route makes this perfect for a relaxed day outdoors.

Day 4 – Hutovo to Zavala / Ravno
~30 km | +250 m / -200 m
Continue along the Ćiro Trail through limestone karst landscapes. Pass tunnels, old viaducts, and charming villages. Plenty of stops to enjoy the views, rest and take photos.

Day 5 – Zavala / Ravno to Trebinje
~35 km | +300 m / -250 m
Today’s ride brings you gradually down into the Trebišnjica Valley. Relaxed pace allows time to explore traditional villages and the historic town of Trebinje in the late afternoon.

Day 6 – Trebinje to Herceg Novi (Montenegro)
~35–40 km | +400 m / -600 m
Cross into Montenegro on quiet country roads. A gradual climb brings you to the Adriatic coast, then a rewarding descent to Herceg Novi, with its old town charm and sea views. Time for a swim in the Adriatic.

Day 7 – Herceg Novi to Kotor
~40 km | +200 m / -500 m
Cycle along the Bay of Kotor, following quiet coastal roads and enjoying the dramatic bay scenery. Explore Perast and the water’s edge before arriving in Kotor’s Old Town, the perfect end to a week of scenic, leisurely cycling.
Optional: extend the ride with a short Lovćen loop for panoramic views.
